As I get older, my health concerns have piled up, demanding more of my attention and care. So, when I began searching for a new job in Milwaukee three years ago, the health plans offered by a potential employer were one of the top factors in my decision. I knew I needed a plan that was easy to understand, fit my budget and—most importantly—gave me peace of mind as my health needs fluctuated.

Centivo has been a game-changer for me.

When I enrolled in Centivo’s health plan with my employer, there was no convoluted jargon or confusing fine print—just straightforward information on deductibles, co-pays and coverage limits. One of the first things that struck me was how easy it was to tally what each visit would cost out-of-pocket. I had a clear, easy-to-follow chart that spelled everything out. 

The real test came for me when I discovered I would need surgery to remove a lipoma, a non-cancerous tumor, which my primary care physician suggested I get taken care of. Like many of you, I always found surgery to be intimidating—not just physically but financially—and I expected to walk away with a hefty bill. But to my surprise, the office told me I owed zero dollars after insurance coverage. For the first time in years, I had no reason to feel anxious about my healthcare costs.

Beyond affordability, one of Centivo’s other standout features, in my experience, is access to primary care physicians (PCPs). Despite significant family doctor shortages, I was amazed at how many PCPs were available and accepting new patients. Having a trusted doctor on call who knows my extensive health history and is invested in my care has been invaluable.

When I needed this surgery, my PCP quickly referred me. There were no hoops to jump through, no waiting periods and no runarounds. My PCP even referred me to a surgeon in the same medical complex—talk about convenience! Centivo offered me healthcare as it should be: efficient, transparent and stress-free.

Centivo’s transparency and support have been a breath of fresh air. I always know what I’m financially responsible for, whether a co-pay or a deductible. And in the rare case I have a question about cost, I can call Centivo’s member support and get an immediate answer—no long waits or transfers from one department to another.

At 64, I feel younger than ever because I can stay on top of my health. Centivo has given me the freedom to prioritize my well-being and peace of mind that rarely exists in healthcare, knowing I can tackle health concerns without financial stress.

In a world where navigating healthcare often feels like an uphill battle, finding a plan that truly supports you is priceless. Centivo restores my fleeting faith in healthcare and makes me feel secure as I age.
